About this experience
Sehel Island lies south of Aswan. Ancient inscriptions are carved into its rocks, including the Famine Stela, which preserves a story about the Nile and a long drought. The island brings landscape and history together in a compact area.
A boat outing can include time to walk around and see the river’s rocky channels. Paths and access are different from those at a large temple. Comfortable shoes and drinking water are sensible.
